On Sunday, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung wrote that Kloten and the ZSC Lions would discuss this matter this week. Now, the three parties involved have found an agreement. Cunti has terminated his contract with the Lions and has signed with EHC Kloten. There, he will now replace Tommi Santala, who left the team in December. Cunti is expected to play his first game for Kloten this weekend.

For the next two seasons, however, Luca Cunti has already agreed to a two-year deal with HC Lugano. In a press release today, the Bianconeri stated that they would have acquired Cunti for the rest of this season, but the Lions insisted on a clause which would have prevented the forward from playing against his former employer in the playoffs.

A clause which was not acceptable to HC Lugano. Thus, Cunti will now end the current season with EHC Kloten. For the Lions, he appeared in 24 NLA games this season, putting up four goals and four assists. Recently, he was often a healthy scratch.
