The 50-year-old had been hired by Lausanne in 2013 for their first season after they had been promoted to the NLA once again. In his three years of coaching, he has led them to the playoffs twice (2014 and 2015). Ehlers' contract would have expired at the end of next season. (mso)

UPDATE EHC Kloten's Sean Simpson to succeed Heinz Ehlers as head coach? "No, and I repeat it, it will not be Simpson," LHC's team manager tells Le Matin. "I do not know where this rumor comes from. I can guarantee you that we have not signed anybody yet. We will start the hiring process as of tomorrow and analyze possible candidates for his succession." (rlu) - 12 April 2016, 5:31 PM
