The 18-year-old defenseman has been part of HC Lugano's organisation since 2011. Riva will play for their U20 team as well as the HCB Ticino Rockets this season. In 33 games for their Elite A team, he scored twelve goals and eight assists this past year. (mso)

HC Lugano signs defenseman Elia Riva to four-year contract
As HC Lugano announces, they have signed Elia Riva to a four-year contract valid as of the 2016-17 season. His deal will thus run through 2020 and it also requires him to conclude his school education by then.
