A total of twelve defenders and 24 forwards were tested in a two-day try-out. 18 players, all aged between 17 and 23, have now been selected to play for EV Zug's farm-team EVZ Academy in the National League B.

Whereas most of these players are homegrown and suited up for EV Zug's Elite youth team in the past years, half a dozen of them spent their time overseas last season, playing for a team in one of North America's junior leagues.

"It was not easy putting together a team from zero. Thus, we have taken much time for it," EVZ's team manager Reto Kläy says. "We have found young and willing player with a lot of development potential."

The current 18-men-roster will still be completed by two young imports and one or two players from EV Zug's youth division. Moreover, it is planned that several EVZ Academy players will get some shots with EV Zug as of next season to gain some experience on NLA-level. (rlu)
