Just before his 585th game with Fribourg, the club announces that they have signed Marc Abplanalp to a new two-year contract. The 32-year-old thus stays with Gottéron until the end of the 2018-19 season.
Abplanalp played his first game for HC Fribourg-Gottéron in the 2002-03 season. After playing with HC La Chaux-de-Fonds and EHC Visp for three seasons, he returned to Fribourg in 2007 and has been suiting up for them since.
