The 25-year-old forward, who joined SCB last summer from the Nashville Predators, has only suited up 14 times for the Bears this season so far due to a laceration he suffered in a preseason game, followed by contracting mononucleosis.

The Swiss international, who could not agree to a new NHL contract with the Predators due to a low AHL salary and slim chances to make the roster permanently, has an NHL out clause in his new contract with the Bears, valid for the end of the 2014/15 season and the end of the 2015/16 season.

However, he can only join an NHL team, if he is able to sign a one-way contract, otherwise the out clause is invalid. Also, the Preds still own his NHL rights, as he was a restricted free agent when he left. Simon Moser has scored one goal and one assist in 14 games for the Bears. His contract will run through 2018.
