As for the present, the 37-year-old might have to face a position change this season and play as a defenseman, as head coach Arno Del Curo has enough centers on his hands. Asked about it, von Arx tells the Tages Anzeiger: "If the coach wants me to play defense, I will play defense."
As for his future as a professional hockey player, he remains positive: "I feel good again and I can start healthy into this season. If it stays that way, I can easily imagine playing another season. As long as I am still having fun playing hockey, I will continue."
Reto von Arx is currently in his 19th season with HCD. He has played 958 games for them, scoring 803 points (263 goals. 540 assists).
