Dominik Kubalík has signed a three-year contract with HC Ambrì-Piotta, the team announces on Friday afternoon. As previously reported by La Regione, he will, however, play on loan for HC Plzeň this season.

The Biancoblù were not looking to sign a fifth import player for this season. They saw, however, an opportunity to secure themselves a player, who could reinforce them, should one of their import players sustain an injury during the season. HC Ambrì-Piotta has thus the right to recall Kubalík from Plzeň if they should need him.

Whether or not Kubalík will actually play for HC Ambrì-Piotta in the 2018-19 or 2019-20 season will be decided after the season. As the club announces, the player would like to play in the NHL or return to the KHL, it thus remains to be seen if he will honor his contract.

The 22-year-old forward would have been under contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa until 2019. By mutual agreement, the deal has, however, been dissolved. This past season, he recorded 48 points (32 goals and 21 assists) in 62 games for HC Plzeň.
