Guggisberg, 20, is a product of the ZSC/GCK Lions organization. This past season, he was part of the Rochester Monarchs from the North American National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC), before he joined the Ducs D'Angers in France's Ligue Magnus in mid-October.
In addition, EHC Winterthur announced that they will have to make do without their new signing Kris Schmidli in the upcoming four to six weeks, as the 22-year-old former EHC Visp forward suffered a hand injury and had to undergo surgery.
