The 17-year-old forward confirmed that he had talked with the Remparts about this possibility, but also said in his media availability after the draft that he would not mind to return to Sweden to continue his development there within HV71's organisation.
As Stephane Leroux points out, the decision might not be entirely in his hands, as the Nashville Predators, the team that drafted him, have a say in what they want him to do in the next season.
Kevin Fiala was selected 11th overall by the Nashville Predators in last night's 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He will be the third Swiss player within the Preds' organisation, joining fellow Swiss internationals defenseman Roman Josi and (possibly) forward Simon Moser.
