In Game 2, the Cataractes had to make do without Swiss forward Lorenzo Canonica. According to Le Nouvelliste, a newspaper from Québec, Canonica is dealing with an injury and his coach did not want him to play two games in less than 24 hours. However, the 18-year-old should be back for Game 3 on Wednesday.

If the Cataractes win the Coupe Président, the championship title of the QMJHL, they would be set to take part in the Memorial Cup tournament. There, the champions of the QMJHL, OHL, and WHL battle for the most prestigious trophy in Canadian junior hockey.
