Medical Report

The Canadian forward is recovering quickly from his worrying throat injury but is not ready to return to game action yet.

EHC Olten

The quarterfinals of the Swiss League playoffs begin tonight, but not for François Beauchemin. In their last game, the forward of EHC Olten was hit by a puck in the unprotected neck area on the larynx, causing him severe breathing difficulties. After two days in the hospital, Beauchemin was released and has resumed practicing.

As he tells the Oltner Tagblatt, he is feeling better but probably will never forget the injury: "The swelling is going down a lot. [...] I could no longer breathe through my mouth, but I was lucky enough to be able to breathe a little through my nose."

As he is not 100% fit yet, the Canadian will return only later in the series against HC Thurgau. For now, his place will be taken by the latest acquisition of the Mice, Sebastian Selin.
