Genève-Servette HC have signed Jonathan Mercier to an extension. The defenceman, whose current deal was set to expire in spring, will remain an Eagle for two more seasons. There is an option for a third year included in the contract.

Mercier, a home-grown talent, made his debut with Genève-Servette's National League team in the 2003-04 season. Since then, the 32-year-old has suited up 725 times for the Grenats, recording 53 goals and 109 assists. During the 2005-06 season, he played ten games with Red Ice Martigny, one year later he made one appearance for EHC Visp. Those were the only two stretches he did not wear the Eagles' jersey.
