National League

The KHL contract of the Swede is expiring this spring. While he does not yet know where his future will lie, he has narrowed it down to three options.

As he tells the Norrländska Socialdemokraten (NSD), he will either extend his contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa, join Luleå HF, or sign with a team in Switzerland.

"It's probably - above all - about creating a "challenge" for myself. It is mostly the hockey that attracts me [to Luleå] - trying to win something with Luleå. It would be great. The other options are more about the economic aspects and the lifestyle," Omark says when asked about what interests him about joining the SHL team.

As for what Switzerland would offer him, he has this to say: "Switzerland is more designed for family life. There is not one night away from the family. There you can hang out as a real family." His wife is currently expecting their second child.

Omark already played in Switzerland during the 2012-13 NHL lockout season, ending the season as the league's best point-getter (17 goals, 52 assists in 48 games). This season, he has recorded six goals and 37 assists in 45 games for Ufa.
