The SCL Tigers will have to make do without their Swede Mikael Johansson for an uncertain amount of time. To still have five import players available for this phase of the season, they decided to engage Stefano Giliati, as team manager Marco Bayer says.

Giliati joins them from the Schwenninger Wild Wings. In 2016, right before joining the DEL-team, he was on a short-term contract with HC Davos and made three games with them. The 31-year-old Italian-Canadian has already played in various countries and leagues, from North America to the Finnish Liiga, Italy and the KHL.

"Stefano Giliati is a power forward and a very good skater", Bayer comments on the signing. The forward is expected to arrive in Langnau on Friday morning.
