"The club decided to focus on young players," the 33-year-old explains to the TdG. "I fully understand this decision." Over the course of his career, Rubin has spent nine seasons with Genève-Servette HC: "Geneva will always remain the place that has left the greatest impact on me in my career."

Daniel Rubin does not yet know what the future holds. "I haven't received any offers yet," he says. "But I'm not desperate to be able to play again." According to the same source, Rubin would also consider offers from the Swiss League, but he also has an idea for the time after hockey: "I'm seriously thinking about becoming a customs officer."

Over the course of his nine seasons with GSHC, Rubin has suited up in 391 games, in which he recorded 158 points (76 goals).
