The 33-year-old Czech is satisfied to have found a solution with Rapperswil and stay close to Zurich, where his son goes to school.

A new chapter in Rapperswil: Roman Červenka.

"We were very happy, you have everything you need, there," Červenka says about his time in Zurich in an interview with iSport.cz. "If Arno (Del Curto) were to stay, I would probably be there. They waited a long time to get a new coach. In the end, Zurich was no longer interested in me."

Nevertheless, he is looking forward to his time with the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers: "We will have a young, hardworking team that can be unpleasant to play against," Červenka is sure. After his health problems last season, he feels ready for the new challenge: "I am still on medication, the treatment is ongoing. But I can do everything."

In Rapperswil, the forward has signed a one-year deal. "I don't know in advance how it will turn out," he explains the short term of his contract. "If both sides are satisfied, there is no problem to talk further. This is more convenient for me."
