Except for four seasons (three with the ZSC Lions and one with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL), he has spent his entire career playing for HC Davos. The captain of the National League team has been able to celebrate six National League titles (five with Davos, one with the ZSC Lions) and a silver medal at the World Championship in 2013. In 999 National League games, he recorded 225 goals and 325 assists.

The forward, who has appeared in over 350 games for the national team, is respected by his peers. “Büehli plays with high intensity […] and can read the game extremely well. […] I am glad to have a player like him on the national team,” national team coach and former teammate Patrick Fischer tells the Südostschweiz.

Mathias Seger adds: “I’ve never seen a player that brings such energy on the ice over so many years. Sometimes I feel like he has a puls of 20 but as soon as he puts on his skates it is up to 200.” Beat Forster simply put it this way: “Büehli is a “Duracell Bunny”, tireless, always full throttle.”
