"Two months ago I would have said no", Marco Streit, EHC Biel's goalie coach, states to the Journal du Jura when confronted with the question if Elien Paupe is good enough to be Jonas Hiller's successor. Nowadays, Streit prefers to call it a possibility they cannot rule out.

The 24-year-old netminder himself mentions that he knows it is a matter being talked about, but tries not to focus on it too much. "The only thing in my power is to show my capabilities when I am on the ice," Paupe states. He also says he has talked to Biel's team manager, Martin Steinegger, but that there have not been any specific results yet.

Paupe has made five National League-appearances so far this season, posting a .914 save percentage and averaging 2.94 goals against. He has also started five CHL-games.
