HC Fribourg-Gottéron have announced the signing of Connor Hughes for two years. The Swiss-Canadian is set to replace the departing Ludovic Waeber.

Hughes started his hockey career in Canadian junior leagues before signing with HC Ambrì-Piotta in 2017. Over the course of the following two seasons, he suited up for their Swiss League partner team, the HCB Ticino Rockets, making 46 games in total. Last summer, the goaltender joined Langenthal and has made eight starts so far this season.
