Chris DiDomenico's contract with the SCL Tigers includes an option to extend prematurely in January. There is a chance that the club decides to opt out of it, the Berner Zeitung writes, as the Canadian has not been too convincing. His fellow import forward, Aaron Gagnon, is unlikely to receive another deal in Langnau. However, this was already the case last spring and he was signed to a new one anyway.
Two possible candidates for eventual import positions would be HC Ajoie's Philip-Michaël Devos and Jonathan Hazen, who have already been scouted by the Tigers. The two Canadians have been the Swiss League team's best scorers since they joined in 2015. In any case, Langnau is expected to have five import players at their disposal next season.
For the Swiss part of the offense, not much change is to be expected. Youngster Keijo Weibel might receive a rookie contract, but other than that, there should not be any transfers. "I have confidence in our personnel", team manager Marco Bayer mentions.
Last but not least - the case of Ivars Punnenovs. It has already been reported that Bayer would like to keep him around for longer than 2021, but the goaltender and his agent still prefer to wait for a bit. Offering a significant pay rise as well as an NHL-out clause, the club wants a decision by the end of the current season.
