National League

The government of Ticino has decided to react to the threat of the virus by not permitting an audience for this weekend's games.

An empty Cornèr Arena on Saturday

The games between HC Ambrì-Piotta and HC Davos (Friday) and HC Lugano and HC Ambrì-Piotta will thus be played in an empty arena. The Council of State decided on that measurement in order to try to prevent potential spreading of the coronavirus. The Ticino had its first confirmed coronavirus case on Tuesday.

The league has also called an extraordinary league assembly on Monday to discuss the further procedure and possible scenarios with all teams in regard to the upcoming playoffs. They do, however, state that they want everyone to remain calm and to prep the scenarios without excessive actionism.
