Until today, only the green light from Kurashev's NHL-organisation, the Chicago Blackhawks, was missing. Now, the club from the "Windy City" has given their okay and confirmed that the 20-year-old will be loaned to HC Lugano for the time being.

Philipp Kurashev has been playing overseas since 2016 when he left Switzerland to join the QMJHL's Québec Remparts. In 2018, he was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fourth round as 120th overall. He has yet to make his debut in the NHL.

Last season, the young forward suited up for the AHL's Rockford IceHogs. In 36 games for them, he recorded 19 points (seven goals). He also represented Switzerland at the IIHF World Championship for the first time in his career.
