"Frustrated and consternated we are taking note of the decision of the Federal Council. We understand the health policy motives, but for us the concluded measures are like the second lockdown after only three home games," Patrick Lengwiler explains in a written statement.

According to a report from Zentralplus, EVZ's Chief Executive Officer is therefore in favor of an interruption of the Championship as games without sponsors and spectators, who are the main source of income, would not make any sense.

As already pre-announced today, the leadership of the league and the clubs are set to meet in the next few days to discuss the consequences and next steps following today's decision by the Federal Council.
