As was already anticipated by Watson's Klaus Zaugg a while ago, the veteran will suit up for the Bears for another year.

Beat Gerber, 38, has signed up for his 19th season with SC Bern. A member of the team since 2003, when he joined from his youth team, the SCL Tigers, the defenseman has made 978 games for the Bears so far. In total, he is at 1143 games in the National League. Over the years, he has won six national championship titles with Bern

Gerber also signed a follow-up agreement for a yet-to-be-determined function with Bern after his active playing career.

"Exemplary commitment and defensive reliability are the trademarks of Beat Gerber, which can still be seen in every game in his 18th season with the SCB. His performances still meet the highest standards at the age of 38. I am glad that we can count on a player of this caliber for another year. His merits can hardly be put into words", Florence Schelling, Bern's team manager, comments the signing.
