Carl Klingberg already told the Luzerner Zeitung back in February that he would like to stay with EV Zug "for a few more years." However, it was already clear at the time that team manager Reto Kläy would not make a decision about his import players until the offseason.

According to the Luzerner Zeitung, however, both parties seem to be interested in continuing their working relationship. Klingberg is also willing to make financial cuts: "Zug has to save money, I will do my part."

Carl Klingberg is currently in his fifth season with EV Zug. The forward recorded 19 goals and 20 assists in 50 regular-season games. In Game 1 of the quarterfinal series against SC Bern, he put up two goals.
