Maxime Montandon confirms the contact with EHC Biel, revealing that he would be ready to make the jump to the National League: "I like HC Sierre, I like my teammates, I like the atmosphere in the dressing room. But I would like to be able to seize the opportunity that is offered to me. An ambitious player always wants to be able to play at a higher level."
Montandon still has one year left in his contract with the Valaisans. Nonetheless, according to the same source, the situation should be resolved next week.
This season, the 27-year-old collected 44 points in 50 games with HC Sierre, the most by any defenseman in the Swiss League. Moreover, he also suited up three times in the playoffs with Genève-Servette HC.
