The Swedish 27-year-old defenseman has signed a two-year contract that will keep him in Rapperswil until spring 2023.

The Lakers have found reinforcement for the defense.

Janick Steinmann, team manager of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, describes Emil Djuse as an experienced offensive defenseman: "Djuse is in his prime age and has had a lot of experience in any top leagues," says Steinmann. "His work ethic and skillset will give our defense stability and boost the offense" adds the team manager.

For the upcoming season, the Lakers have now filled four import-slots in the roster, with forwards Roman Červenka (CZE), Steve Moses (USA), and Andrew Rowe (USA) that still have valid contracts in their pocket.

Djuse spent most of his career playing in the SHL. In the 2019-20 season, he did, however, suit up for the Texas Stars (AHL). This season, he recorded six goals and 22 assists in 45 games for Spartak Moskova in the KHL.
