"It's my goal to return to Switzerland," Sven Bärtschi tells Blick. "But my gut said [this past summer]: it's too early now. Maybe the next year or the year after. I want my son to still see me play in Switzerland."
The forward's only professional games in Switzerland were in the Swiss League back in the 2009-10 season. The year after he went overseas in order to play in the WHL. Since then, he has only ever played in North America.
Sven Bärtschi was recently assigned to the AHL by the Vegas Golden Knights. The forward, who did not play a single NHL game last season for the Vancouver Canucks, will thus start the season in the AHL and wait for his chance to play in the NHL again.
