National League

The 33-year-old ruptured the cruciate ligament of his right knee at the end of last season and has been without a team ever since spring.

"I train every day at Ars Medica in Gravesano [...]. Moreover, I often go on the ice with the Ticino Rockets," Lorenz Kienzle tells the Corriere del Ticino. "Normally, after an injury like this, you come back to play after nine to eleven months. I feel I'm close, I'm not afraid of contact, but I'm still 5-10% away from a real game."

Kienzle would have a team interested in him before he sustained his injury. After that, they backed out. "I understand them, they didn't want to take the risk of waiting for me," Kienzle states. "I didn't have anything in my hand, I got hurt at the end of the season and was left stranded."

As he is doing better physically, the former HC Davos player is now ready to look at the market again. He is, however, not in any hurry and will consider all his options, whether it will be in the National League or the Swiss League.
