National League

The 31-year-old forward has signed a one-year extension with the ZSC Lions. His new deal also includes an option for an additional season.

Over the course of his career, Reto Schäppi has only ever played for the organization of the ZSC Lions. For the Lions, he made his National League debut during the 2010-11 season.

"He is a very valuable player for us," team manager Sven Leuenberger says about his decision to extend Schäppi's contract. "With his game and his defensive qualities, Reto provides stability in a line that often includes young wingers. Off the ice as part of the captain's team, he convinces with leadership."

With the ZSC Lions, Reto Schäppi has celebrated three championship titles so far (in 2012, 2014, and 2018). In 2018, he was part of the Swiss team that won the silver medal at the World Championship.
