The 24-year-old defenseman, who is currently sidelined with a concussion, is in his first season with the SCL Tigers. In 30 games for the Tigers, he has recorded one assist.
As for Alain Bircher, the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers have decided to activate the option that was included in the deal he signed last May. Bircher will thus reinforce the Lakers' defense at least until the end of the 2022-23 season.
With the new deals of Elsener and Bircher, the Lakers have now all defensive spots filled for the 2022-23 season.
