The 31-year-old, who arrives from the New York Islanders' organization, has signed a contract, which is valid until the end of the season.

After Richard Pánik was already on the ice with the Lions in their training session on Wednesday, the ink under the contract is now dry. "Richard is a player with a wealth of experience," head coach John Fust says. "With his impressive size, he can be both power forward and scorer."

CapFriendly already reported this morning that Pánik has been loaned from the New York Islanders to Lausanne. Last season, he mainly suited up in the AHL for the Isles' affiliate team in Bridgeport and also for the Chicago Wolves.

Richard Pánik is Lausanne HC's eighth import-player. He will also fill in for Austrian forward Michael Raffl, who will be sidelined "long-term" due to an ankle injury, as head coach John Fust told 24 heures.
