After almost 600 games in the National League, Thomas Wellinger takes on a new career path. HC Davos has offered him a coaching job in their youth sector. "I'm very grateful to HCD for this opportunity, and I am enormously looking forward to this new challenge," Wellinger states.
For René Müller, head of HCD's youth department, Wellinger is sort of a missing piece to their current coaching staff: "We're glad to get with Thomas a coach who brings a lot of know-how, especially as a defender, which makes him a good addition to the existing junior coaches."
Over the course of his active career, Thomas Wellinger appeared in almost 656 games in the National League (including post-season games). In Switzerland's top league, he suited up for HC Davos, EHC Biel, SC Bern, and HC Lugano.
