"His presentation convinced me," HCC's team manager Loïc Burkhalter says. "He is a young coach who likes to play an intense and fast hockey. The fact that he doesn't know the players is an asset that will allow everyone to start the season on an equal footing."

For the past five years, Kvarnström has coached Lillehammer IK in the Norwegian top league. Before that he also worked in Sweden, Italy and France. His assistant will be Clint Thornton, who has signed a one-year contract extension. He already spent this past season as the assistant of Serge Pelletier.
