Professional sports teams in the Valais will be allowed to keep on playing, but only under exclusion of the public. Also bars, discos and nightclubs will have to close down completely and only up to ten people are allowed to meet in public and private spaces, to name just a few other measures.

The new measures in the Valais will remain in force "for as long as necessary," the canton writes, but no later than 30 November 2020.

EHC Visp has already issued a statement and is surprised about the move as the canton has never discussed any other solutions with the clubs: "The economic, social and entrepreneurial damage is immense and threatens the existence of the club," the statement says.
