The expiring contracts of Per Hånberg and of his assistant Björn Lidström will not be extended.

Per Hånberg and Björn Lidström will not stay in Kloten.

After two years with EHC Kloten, Hånberg and Lidström will have to find a new employer. As reported by Watson, the employment agreement with the two Swedes would have been automatically extended for a third year only in the event of promotion. This, however, did not happen, as the Flughafenstädter were defeated in the playoffs final by HC Ajoie.

The president of EHC Kloten, Mike Schälchli confirmed to Watson the news: "Yes, we are looking for a new coach." According to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Hanberg's successor has already been found apparently, and the name will be announced next week. Recently, the Walliser Bote already reported that Kloten had been exploring the market, with Lars Leuenberger considered to be a person of interest.
