As Olivier Calame, one of the board members of the Swiss League AG, tells Arcinfo, there is still a lot to be negotiated ahead of the 2022-23 season. For example, they will have to talk with the SIHF about their schedule as well as the refereeing fees.
Willi Vögtlin, who has done the scheduling for both the National League and the Swiss League up until now, is now an employee of the NL and the Swiss League will thus have to see how they will get their schedule made.
They will also have to renegotiate the broadcasting rights for the Swiss League. In that regard, they also want to exploit the possibility of a streaming system. They have mandated a specialized company to conduct those negotiations for them.
Furthermore, their contract with PostFinance will also not be renewed. They will thus also have to find a new sponsor for the topscorer-jersey. "The objective is to be able to earn as much money as we do now, i.e. some 390,000 francs, between TV rights and the sponsor of the top-scorer-jersey," Olivier Calame states.
