Arnaud Montandon would still have been signed until 2023, but HC Sierre announced an early extension of his contract for another five years. The older brother of captain Maxime joined the club in 2018 after their promotion to the Swiss League.
Montandon was Sierre's best scorer in the last regular season, recording 24 goals and assists each in 46 games. In the playoffs, he came in second behind Éric Castonguay with five goals and three assists in seven games.
