It has already been clear for a while that Elien Paupe would not stay with EHC Biel beyond this season. In early January, HC Ajoie confirmed their interest in the goaltender who had once played in their junior teams until he joined EHC Biel in the 2011-12 season.
Paupe already played for SC Langenthal this past season, albeit via B-license. "Elien Paupe is a talented goalie who has gained valuable experience in different roles in the National League," team manager Kevin Schläpfer states. "With us, he will be able to prove himself as a number one and develop further."
