Louis Matte thus leave Genève-Servette HC after 25 years, 14 of which he had been an assistant coach of the first team. Matte would have had a contract in place with the Grenats, but they were willing to let him go.
Matte succeeds Thierry Paterlini who had been HC La Chaux-de-Fonds' head coach for the past two seasons and will now work as the head coach of the SCL Tigers.
As for the now-vacant position on GSHC's bench, according to team manager Marc Gautschi, the club will decide in the upcoming weeks how they will fill the vacancy,
