At 24, Nico Engeler has decided to retire from professional hockey due to health reasons. The defender, who did not suit up once this season, asked for and received an early contract termination effective at the end of the month.

For one departure, EHC Winterthur announces the signing of defender Gianluca March and forward Devin Muller from EHC Basel. Muller, 31, has signed a three-year contract with Winterthur. It will be his seventh different team in the Swiss League. This season, Muller collected 13 points in ten games.

As for March, the Swiss-Italian 25-year-old defenseman will leave Italy for the first time in his career. March will stay in Winterthur for the next two championships. This last season, March collected four assists in 36 games with HC Pustertal.
