The defender, who has not seen a lot of ice time this season, will not return to his native country.

Luca Sbisa has only appeared in nine games for the New York Islanders this season. His last game with them was in mid-January against the New York Rangers.

However, as his agent, André Rufener tells Klaus Zaugg (Watson), a return to Switzerland is not an option for Sbisa: "It is either the NHL or retirement." The defender will hit free agency this summer and will try to gain another contract. Should he not be able to do so, he will return to Newport Beach (California) and start his second career in real estate, Rufener states.

As for the rest of Rufener's Swiss NHL clients, they will all either honour their contract with their respective NHL team (Yannick Rathgeb, Dean Kukan) or try to earn a new deal in North America (Sven Andrighetto, Mirco Müller).
