Shortly after announcing his departure from Zürich, Suter is expected to sign a one-year contract with his new team in a few days.

Pius Suter might end up with the Blackhawks.

According to a source close to The Athletic, the Chicago Blackhawks are presumably among the teams interested in signing Pius Suter. Referring to an e-mail from Suter's agent, the sports website reports that the signing has to be expected in just a few days.

The Tages-Anzeiger writes that Chicago seems to be the team with which Suter has reached an agreement on a one-year basis. The same newspaper also speculates that Chicago would indeed, be a fitting destination for the top scorer of the last season as one of the assistant coaches is Marc Crawford, who coached the 24-year-old for one season in Zürich back in 2015-16.

The Neue Zürcher Zeitung covered too the departure of Suter from the ZSC Lions: once more, Sven Andrighetto is seen as the favorite replacement for Suter in Zürich. Moreover, the same source reports that should Suter return to Switzerland before 2023, the contract with the Lions, which has just been terminated, would become valid again.
