As the Caps tweeted, Siegenthaler signed a contract worth $800,000 for the duration of the 2020-21 season. During his second season with Washington, the Swiss defender had scored 9 points during the last season.

Before starting his career in North America, Siegenthaler played for the ZSC Lions, recording 18 points in 115 career games.
