As Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports, the Nashville Predators have claimed Luca Sbisa from waivers. He will join fellow Swiss defensemen Roman Josi (the Preds' captain) as well as Yannick Weber (on a PTO).

Signed to a new contract in October, Sbisa was placed on waivers by the Winnipeg Jets yesterday to either send him to the AHL or be part of their so-called "taxi squad".

The Predators will be the 30-year-old's seventh NHL-team. Prior to the Preds and the Jets, he has already suited up for Philadelphia, Anaheim, Vancouver, Vegas and the New York Islanders.
