The Columbus Blue Jackets have cut seven players from their roster. They have now trimmed the roster to the required season-opening 23 players.

Technically, there are still 24 players on their roster, but, as Jeff Svoboda, the Jackets' team reporter, reports, Trey Fix-Wolansky is injured and the Jackets are thus at 23 players. Grégory Hofmann and Dean Kukan thus stay on the NHL roster for now.

Sven Bärtschi, on the other hand, will likely start his season in the AHL. As Elliotte Friedman (Sportsnet) reports, the forward has been placed on waivers by the Vegas Golden Knights.
