Vitek Vanecek was not able to participate in this morning's practice due to illness and a lower-body injury he sustained in the game against the Caroline Hurricanes.
As Vanecek is thus out, Akira Schmid has been recalled from the Utica Comets. He has appeared in twelve games for them, posting a .885 save percentage.
