The season of Michael Frolík is already over, as his team, the Buffalo Sabres, will not participate in the Stanley Cup Playoffs qualifying round. With that, also his current five-year contract comes to an end, meaning that the winger is looking for a new accommodation.
For Frolík, the priority is still to play in the NHL, however there are many uncertainties regarding the 2020-21 season, which will start no sooner than December. A possibility for him, therefore, is to play in the Czech Republic or elsewhere in Europe. Apparently, Frolík is mainly thinking about Switzerland, and contacts has been initiated with Lausanne HC. However, also KHL's Avangard Omsk, who recently parted ways with Sven Andrighetto, is targeting the Czech.
This season, Frolík suited up 38 times with the Calgary Flames before being traded to the Buffalo Sabres, for which he played 19 games, recording in total 14 points. Over the course of his career, the forward has played almost 900 NHL games, winning a Stanley Cup in 2013 with the Chicago Blackhawks.
