Despite having a contract valid for the upcoming season with Leksands IF in the SHL, Peter Cehlárik is reportedly considering alternatives, including clubs in Switzerland: "I still have a contract for next season, but there are alternatives in a few different leagues. We're having a great season here, so I have not decided yet. We will see what happens in the future".

Towards the end of May 2020, the rumor that Cehlárik had been signed by HC Lugano surfaced, but in the end, the 25-year-old decided to play for Leksands IF. This season, the former forward of the Boston Bruins has scored 18 goals and collected 16 assists in 40 SHL games.
